WELCOME AT THE BACKSPACE WEBSITE!
Backspace is a non-profit organisation based in the Netherlands that organises events and provides and maintains a network of promoters, audio-/visual-artists, producers, event-organisation, dj's, vj's, sound systems, labels, decorists, distributors, performers and all other good and creative souls that are somehow connected to the world of intelligent electronic music and related (audio-/visual) arts.
With 'intelligent electronic music' we mean the musical genres of the alternative and experimental modern electronics as opposed to the more commercial or uninspiring forms of electronic music.We focus on the genres of the experimental and electro-acoustics, IDM, tekno, breakcore, breaks, breakbeats, dubstep, grime, psy-trance, Drum&Bass, electro, trip hop, more downtempo and ambient soundworks and (in fusion with) live-/world-/classical/jazz-musicians, bearing in mind the world's old and various ways of making music.

- As we're just getting things started, there's not much news and info on this page yet. Also the forum and website are both BETA versions. If problems occur please inform us so we can improve the website/forum.
- We strongly recommend all of you to sign-up at our forum, introduce yourself and become part of our events and network. With this we are forming a creative community from which all kinds of interesting projects can evolve and which union can help open doors (to certain venues for example) and set new standards for party- and music-culture.
- Please send us e-mails only with information of a personal nature (like your prices, preferences or tour dates if you're an artist and want to be promoted). For all questions of a more general nature and direct promotion of your work or organisation, please use our forum.
